Not sure if you’re ready for a forever friend?
Fostering can be a great option.

Why Fostering Makes a Difference

While we do our best to provide the best possible experience for all our animals, being in a shelter isn’t nearly as fun as being in a loving home. If you are able to foster, not only do you get a temporary best friend, but you…

  • Help animals get ready for adoption

  • Keep them safe and comfortable if they’re recovering from illness or injury

  • Provide a calm and stable environment for pets who need the support of a nurturing home to protect their well-being while they await adoption

 What to Expect

We ask that anyone who would like to foster…

  • Visit Berkeley Animal Care Services to meet the animal you’re interested in fostering

  • Schedule a time to introduce any pets you currently have at home to to the potential foster animal

  • Be ready to commit to a specific period of time (i.e. one month), although that time can be extended if you and BACS would like to do so.
